ON BLAST | ALICE HERNANDEZ

Alice's hat closet has many rooms. And by that, we mean, Alice, who you see on stage most Sundays leading us in prayer and sacraments and occasional preaching, cares for people as a pastor in many different roles. For six years, Alice has worked at DOWNTOWN CHURCH part-time. She helps with liturgy and pastoral care. She writes the b-sides (curriculum) for home groups. Her full time work, though, is at the hospital. Alice is the Manager of the Spiritual Care and Education Department at Prisma Health Richland, right up the street. This means that not only does she care for patients and families at the hospital, but she teaches other chaplains how to do the same!

Baller, am I right?

Alice is also a committed Air Force Reserve Chaplain. She serves as the Deputy Wing Chaplain to the 315th Air Wing at Joint Base Charleston, SC. When you don't see Alice on Sundays, this means she is likely wearing the uniform in Charleston and maybe even preaching in a chapel there.
